haha i need at add my own little bit here. the tragic story of alexei is that he was born a hemophiliac, which made his mother neurotically worried, so much so she turns to Rasputin who was a dirty faith healer from the countryside. while Rasputin banged anything in the household that moved, the country was falling apart, eventually his father was forced to abdicate for alexei’s sake to avoid his family being killed by the temporary revolutionary governments. (yes there were two). this was all in vain when later his whole family was butchered and burned in the winters palace basement.
